FAQ

To record a message on the Voice-Over you need to insert (and hold) a pen into the hole marked REC in order to activate the recessed REC button. Sometimes VoiceGifters want to make sure that their recordings are saved for a very long time. With the recessed REC switch we make it easy to record your message but highly unlikely that your message will be inadvertently deleted.
If you’re not happy with the volume or clarity of your recording, experiment with holding the device closer or further away from your mouth and with lowering or raising your voice level… until you are satisfied.
Please note that you have to press AND HOLD DOWN your pen on the recessed REC button for the duration of your recording. You can release when you are finished recording or when you reach the capacity of the unit. Just press the PLAY button to preview your message and make sure you like it.
The recorder was designed and optimized to record human voice. You can experiment with holding the recorder at varying distances from your speaker and also experiment with increasing and lowering the volume on your speaker to see if you can get acceptable results.
The batteries included with the unit are designed to play (and replay the message) over 300 times under normal usage. When the unit no longer plays the message, you need to replace the batteries. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the child-safety screw over the battery door and then use a flat head screwdriver to pop the button cell batteries out. Replace with three fresh LR1130 (AG13) alkaline button cell batteries. Be sure to insert with the positive (+) side facing up.
Yes! We use non-volatile memory in all of our products which does not require power to save your recordings.
Turn the Voice-Over over and you will see a selector switch marked with a finger (for Push mode) and by a light bulb (for light sensitive mode). We suggest that you do your recording in Push mode and then (if you wish) switch to light sensitive mode.
If you place the sticker on the front of the frame so that it is aligned with the PLAY button to the Voice-Over unit on the back of the frame, people with naturally press the sticker on the front of the frame with their thumb and use their forefinger on the back of the frame as a counter force.
